Preciousness of Flesh IV: Fleshiousness Abiding

Preciousness in Flesh III: Return of the Precious

Preciousness in Flesh, The Sequel
Preciousness in Flesh
good morning-- or not quite yet. . .

And by the way, 61 years ago today, Lois Ada (Bigger) Guyette gave birth by C-section to a baby girl she and her husband Francis LeVern named Marsha Lee Guyette.

They had been trying to have a baby for 8 years.

Happy birthday Grandmommy Marsha! We are so glad you are here!

XOXOXOXO

We changed out of the papooshka/snuggle-me/kiddopotamus doodad but it was GREAT. Francesca slept for hours, as of course did I. Who needs more than 4 hours anyway....OK, well I do, but 4 straight is pretty darn good for now. . .

"Snuggle-Me"
aka
death by cuteness

Grandmommy and Francesca

Daddy poised to attempt waking Francesca to give her a bottle of mommy milk. . . As her bib says, "How sweet it is to be loved by you". . .

more of same

unposed, unscripted, unadulterated sleep.....

sometimes you simply must let sleeping babies lie. . .

Daddy and Francesca at the hospital

Sweet Peach

Scientists have discovered the softest substance on earth is:
Francesca Margot Arouet's head.

watching a sleeping angel

Monday, March 9, 2009

This is how the day started. Later we had a nonstop day including a mother-baby doctor's appointment. She passed all her tests with flying colors... She really is an angel. I can't believe how lucky we are. . .

Francesca's first sunbath
latest sleeping arrangements. . .

one more leaving the hospital. Francesca wanted me to be sure to say how super incredible Providence St. Vincent's was...we all got such good care, the nurses, docs and staff
were truly masterful and kind.

Also, my Kaiser doc who was my obgyn and performed the C section-dr. Kathleen Dalke was all that and more. Her incision was always remarked on by nurses and other docs who checked it (multiple times a day for the 5 days we were there). no staples, very super clean, scar will be hardly noticeable. one doc said it was the best she'd ever seen.

leaving hospital yesterday

from hospital: Francesca and daddy snuggling in gorgeous embroidered pale pink quilt from aunt Jess and uncle Delbert from Arizona. everyone commented on it too, after exclaiming over F of course...

allison really does get to hold the baby once in a while. . .

Francesca with her special UV light blanket. We always knew she was a child of the light. . . .

dad and francesca relax post feeding whilst this happens, mom is pumping breasts. there will be NO picture of that. ever.

busy busy 24 hrs... we are on strict every 3 hour schedule of breast, bottle, pump. she was a little jaundiced-pretty common i guess- so bottle is just till milk comes in. she also is wearing a 'light blanket' for jaundice which makes her look very other worldly...

wakey wakey!
