Dear Le Monde Community:

As a staff and board we discussed our heartbreak regarding the recent tragedy in Orlando.  While the school will not discuss the violence with the children, we did feel that it was important to take positive action as a community.  Accordingly, we intend to celebrate love in all of its forms this Friday, with a "Love is Love" Day, which will be a no uniform day.   Students are encouraged to wear articles of clothing with hearts on them, and we will be sending home cut paper hearts for students to wear to school on Friday if you and your student wish.  Many of our staff members will be wearing rainbow hearts to show our support for not only the victims but all members of the LGBTQ community.  We will not be discussing the symbolism associated with rainbow hearts with the students, though we encourage you to have those discussions at home as you choose.  Instead, our message at school will be that love of all kinds makes the world a better place.

We hope you will help us to celebrate the positive power of love this Friday by encouraging your student to wear some hearts of any or all colors!

Some of our staff will be attending a vigil for Orlando on Thursday if you would like to join them, individually or with family members and friends. It will be in front of the Q Center from 7-9 pm. Here is the FB page with the information about the vigil:
