I would secondly like to simply point out that the Nickname Accord brokered in November 2009 between the Nickname-over-my-dead-body party and the Nickname Enthusiasts was that approved Nicknames were a) "Francesca", short for "Princess Francesca-rina, Mistress of the Realm" b) Chescarina "Chess-cuh-reena" c) any name in the "Sweat Pea/Sugar Pop/Honey drop" Category, conceived of and used in good faith and in moderation.
Having made that historical reference, I am on a spiritual path of acceptance and forgiveness and if makes certain people happy to engage in linguistic behavior in full knowledge of the degree of revulsion and nonplussity caused by said linguistic behavior, so be it.
