Canada Day!

The Frost Trahan family with Canada Day organizer, and genuine Canadian, Sarah Rothenfluch.

Francesca eats Canada day grub. Mainly cheddar cheese. It's good, eh.

Later in the afternoon, after watching bigger kids play hockey, Francesca tried out her skills with a baby hockey stick and a balloon.

A Canada day balloon, aka, Francesca hockey puck. Use your imagination, eh!

Francesca and Daddy pose with "Tom-A-Hawk", the mascot for the Portland Winterhawks, an actual bone fide hockey team in Portland. This was actually the happiest she was around the bird. For the rest of our time at Canada Day, whenever "Tom" came within 5 feet of her, she was in various states of unease — one time she burst into tears when he got within touching distance and waved to her. . . (As if to say, "What the heck is that thing, eh?!) It is a pretty weird looking thing after all, when you think about it.

Francesca loves her new Canada bear. It is one of only two bears in her animal collection.

A better photo of Canada bear, pictured here relaxing in Francesca's high chair, after the festivities. . . Next year though, we are going to win that quiz. Watch out, eh.
